Mournings not mornings

Hi readers (I'm waving at myself right now since I am obviously flying solo at this point)! I tried to sleep but felt I had to explain the name of the part of the title titled "Mourning the brides".

I have to backtrack at this point and say that I was in a 7 year relationship from 25 to 32 which I think most likely screwed up my life plans. Just a wee bit. My friends (if you looked at your emails that I sent saying I set up this blog) and family know who I mean. Yes, him. Sorry but he will always be significant to me and will keep coming up.

To keep the smoke screen of privacy going I will call him Bryce. Why Bryce you/I ask? Well, that was his choice if we ever had a baby boy in the "what should we call our unborn children even though we can't even agree on sushi or Thai for dinner" game. You know you have played that game too, don't even try and deny it. Anyway, he loved the name Bryce. A little piece of me wilted inside when he presented me with that choice in names. To be blunt, I hate the name Bryce (I'm waving bye bye at anyone who just named their kid Bryce-see ya!). It seems silly and rhymes with rice. That's about all I have to say about it.

So it's fitting that this particular skeleton in my closet or heavy suitcase full of baggage will go by Bryce on this girl's blog. Anyway again, Bryce claimed he would never ever marry (when I get to the part about how he got married a year after we broke up this will seem more interesting) and around the age of 30 suddenly everyone we knew or sneezed on was getting hitched. He decided to announce one wedding day that he felt that the men's lives were ending (the grooms that is). This just pissed me off so from that day forward I insisted on wearing black to every wedding we went too to, hence you guessed it, "mourn the bride". And not just black but funeral black. Black dress, black tights, black jacket.......the works. I have to say it pissed him off enough to be TOTALLY worth it. I now am back to wearing celebratory appropriate colors to weddings but if I show up at yours wearing black then you should basically know I'm not rooting for your union.

Good night for real! I have to be a grown up in the morning. Thanks for reading.
